As Muslims celebrate Eid-El-Maulud tomorrow, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has assured the people of the state that his administration will continue to take proactive measures to guarantee the security of lives and property.
Governor Ortom also thanked Benue people and other Nigerians for the support given the state government to successfully commencement of implementation of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law.
He urged cattle breeders and farmers in the state to cooperate with security agencies and other relevant organisations saddled with the responsibility of enforcing the law.
Ortom also reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to ensuring the safety of the people while creating numerous economic opportunities.
He expressed optimism that the economy will improve and his administration will continue to deliver good governance to the people.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Terver Akase, said the Governor enjoined Muslims in particular to seize the opportunity presented by Eid-El-Maulud to pray for peace and unity as they mark the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
